In 2001, NBA legend Kevin Willis, along with his brother Robert, created the Atlanta Children’s Foundation. ACF operates a specialized residential camp as well as year-long support and mentoring programs for children in foster care.

There are underprivileged youth who can be traumatized by such a simple mistake. Reaching those children, downtrodden by the foster-care system, has become the passion of brothers Kevin and Robert Willis and their charity Atlanta Children’s Foundation. They have created The Village, a 150-acre summer camp located here, to empower those in foster care with a sense of belonging and the skills to take care of themselves. They refer to it as an experiential learning community.

The Atlanta Children’s Foundation today announced the debut of its Crisis Card Program to further support children who have aged out of the foster care system upon turning 18. With help from sponsors, the Crisis Card Program will provide financial aid to these at-risk youths to help them avoid possible exploitation upon aging out of the Georgia foster care system.

But the endeavor that makes the Buckhead resident an even brighter star is his commitment to the Atlanta Children’s Foundation Village, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded by Willis and his brother, Robert.
